Rooted in the Word: AMC’s Annual Bible Challenge

Participants (Oral) with the CEN Committee Members

What started last year as an experiment has become an annual event. Unlike many other ritual-based churches, AMC is a Bible-based one. The Bible has an answer for any problem in our lives. When we face a troubled situation, we ask: What does the Bible say? What is God’s perspective from the Word of God? What would Jesus do if He were in our midst? Therefore, knowing the Bible is mandatory for leading a Christian life.

The Annual Bible Quiz was conducted at AMC on January 19 (written) and January 26 (Oral). Dr Sujatha Luther, chairperson of the Christian Education and Nurture Committee, spearheaded the programme, which was supported by the CEN members.

Starting last January, AMC decided to learn one memory verse every week. The pastors recite a verse every week before the general announcements. These verses are chosen—either a promise or a command. We can recite these promises or commands to remind ourselves about God’s presence when we pray.

The whole church supports such an innovative approach to nurture our spiritual growth. We urge everyone in the church to participate in this annual event to encourage the younger generation to get inspired by the Word of God
